Synthetic DNA technologies show promise as a long-term data storage medium, with potential implementations in future digital preservation strategies. A JPEG Committee Ad Hoc Working Group on DNA Storage was formed to study use cases, to identify requirements and to assess the state of the art in DNA storage for the purpose of image archival using DNA in order to launch a standardization activity. As part of its information-gathering over the past year, the Committee has been holding online workshops. At its third workshop being held online on April 9th, Digital Bedrock’s  Founder/CEO Linda Tadic will present on DNA storage use cases and requirements for digital audiovisual content. The public is welcome to register and attend the workshop, held Friday April 9 at 17:00 UTC (10:00 AM PST/1:00 PM EST).  Watch the proceedings HERE (Linda’s presentation is at 10:45).
